Trying to explore the nuances of the printmaking process, I was able to get in tune with my culture, family, and art practice even more through this project. While trying to intertwine the likeness of my grandmother, a strange and quirky sketch of an imagined face I created, and the image of the iconic “Scream” painting by Edward Munch, I ended up making this unanticipated creation that has so many layers to my identity, the past, and the present.
